I have always been a seeker of information and knowledge.
I decided to attend massage school several years ago as an avenue for my interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Energy Therapies and Tai Chi.I attended and graduated from Body Therapy Institute, a program that’s mission statement “Learning that Changes Lives through the Power of Massage Therapy.” This is how I experienced massage school.
Since receiving my license in North Carolina and National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, my life continues with that mission and level of learning that not only changes my life, but the lives of those with whom I work. My commitment to learning continued as I attended The Spirit of Learning Teacher Certification for Massage, Bodywork and Spa Educators.
I have spent time working with people with life limiting diseases and find this has been a classroom of its own. The subtle language of body rhythms have been invaluable teachers. I have based the name of my practice and my mission on the language of the body, after all, it all happens…Through the Body, our earthly container. I have added Wellness Coaching to my practice because it is another way to assist others in maintaining the body through nutrition, exercise and other practices of wellness. I have studied economics and would say I have a logical mind for processing information. I enjoy talking with others and pride myself on my open style of communication. I teach through my own embodied experience with compassion, knowing that each encounter is yet another learning opportunity.
